Preventing leakages in refrigeration system

Q-What are the precautionary measures taken to prevent leakages & why should measures are necessary?

Precautionary measures include:

1. Periodical check all fittings & connections are not loosen due to vibrations.

2. Do not overcharge system with refrigerant – operating the system within the recommended

    LP, OP & HP pressure.

These measures are necessary to prevent:

1. Loss of refrigerant – environmentally depleting the ozone layer (if chlorine present) or increase the

    green house effect.

2. Reduced in COP due to reduction in mass flow per unit time and reduction in refrigerating effect.

3. Contamination of items in cold rooms.

4. Prolong running hours of the compressor.

5. Unnecessary overhauling/servicing of compressor
